Affirmations Stamp

What you need:

• 'Affirmations' stamp
• Silver pigment ink pad
• Hearts & stars peel off stickers
• Silver angel wire
• Silver skeleton leaves
• 144x144mm Black deckle edge card
• Black card
• Double sided tape
• PVA glue
   

What to do:

1. Start by inking up the stamp with the silver pad. The best way to do this is to turn the stamp over and dab the ink pad over the rubber until the design is completely coated (instead of pressing the stamp down into the ink pad). Place the stamp onto the black piece of card being careful not to nudge or twist the stamp and press down firmly. Lift the stamp and allow a little time for the ink to dry before handling the card.
2. To give the stamped black card a slightly feathered edge place a metal ruler over the stamped design allowing an extra 0.5cm border. Carefully tear away the excess card by pulling up towards you from one end while pressing down firmly on the ruler so you are tearing along the metal edge. If you want a more feathered effect try wetting a fine paint brush and running a thin line of water down the edge of the ruler and then tearing the edge.
3. Cut four strips of silver angel wire that are slightly shorter than the edges of the black torn panel.
4. Use double sided tape to stick the angel wire strips to the back of the card. Apply more double side tape to the centre of the black panel and behind the angel wire but leave the backing paper on. Position the panel on the card at an angle and try placing the skeleton leaves underneath the edges of the angel wire.
5. Once you are happy with the layout lift off the card panel and stick the skeleton leaves into place with a little PVA glue at the base of the spine. Peel the backing off the double sided tape and stick the panel down in position.
6. Finally, decorate the base card with the silver peel off hearts and stars.
