Peel off Stickers
Peel off stickers are often under estimated. They are great for making quick cards or more unusual one off cards that you might not want to invest in buying a rubber stamp for. Peel letters and phrases are particularly useful for personalising general cards. In recent years the designs for peel offs and range available have greatly improved and you can now find peel offs specially desgined to link with other products such as punches and templates.
There are two great techniques for applying peel off stickers:
1. Tweezers/craft knife technique
Using tweezers, the tip of a craft knife or pointed tool gently lift away the sticker from one edge, letting it stick the tool so that you can position it then tap down with your finger and remove the tool
2. Magic tape technique
This is our personal favourite and is the best technique for positioning text peel offs perfectly in a straight line. Start by taking a strip of magic tape (this is a low tack semi transparent tape) long enough to cover the peel off. If it's still quite sticky or you are using very delicate papers you can remove some of the tackiness by pressing it against your clothes a few times. Place the tape over the design on the peel off sheet and rub it firmly. Gently peel back one end of the tape, you may find you have to get the sticker started at one edge with a knife. Once the sticker starts to lift with the tape slowly peel it fully off. You can now hold the two ends of the tape and see through the tape to know exactly where you are positioning the sticker. When you are happy with the position press the tape down and gently rub over the design. Slowly peel the magic tape back from the card and the peel off will be left in place perfectly straight and aligned as it was on the sticker sheet. There may be small pieces the need to be removed with a pin or knife (such as the middle of o's). If you are transfering a larger image then use mutliple strips to cover the whole design.
